"La Sequea" ... The Dry Season
It should be noted that we are currently in the height of the Dry
Season or "La Sequea". As such, and until approximately June 1,
you will encounter most of southern Mexico in an extremely
dry...often very HOT... state of existence. Not to worry, as soon as
the rains begin (and we're talking many times, less than a week!)
the countryside literally transforms, as if before your very eyes,
into the brilliant and varied shades of intense green that makes the
Yucatan (epecially in our zone!) so incredibly beautiful, most of the
year. Meantime, the incredible Flamboyan and "Rain of Gold" trees,
among others, have already just begun to sprout their amazing
blossoms of flaming reds, oranges, and the most brilliant of yellows.
