A "before and  after" ... and in process...group of
photos to follow, but not to worry, as part of what
appears a bit
devastating when compared with
earlier photos is simply because the later photos
were taken as we moved from the rainy to the dry
season.

The other issue is that in building the new road, a
lot of debris and undergrowth was necessarily
generated and we are still in process of sorting
through the wood which can be recycled as posts
and other construction lumber and removing the
rest prior to clearing yet more of the undergrowth
where the lots and the green-spaces between them
will be planted.

The building parcels in these photos will be on
the left side of the new road.  We have just begun
clearing additional undergrowth where the
parcels will be located as part of the process of
allowing our select group of buyers to decide the
size of parcel and best location for it on a first
come, first serve basis.

Our policy has been and remains to cut down as
few trees as possible throughout  the entire
process from the road construction through the
selection and preparation of the parcels, through
the actual construction of each buyer's dwelling
and out buildings.

It is important to understand that most of the
local forested areas are third, forth or really, who
knows how many repetitions of growth after being
cut and cleared for farming and ranching
activities, first and to a lesser degree, by the
original Mayan inhabitants and their
predecessors and later, and to a much more
"devastating" degree, depending upon one's
environmental outlook and understanding of the
current planetary -wide issues around
deforestation, global warming, and related issues.

As we have said, the vast  majority of existing
indigenous  trees will be preserved and protected
along with the cactus varieties which stand like
sculptures to remind us we are living in Mexico.
As we are ready and able to replant/reforest and
irrigate appropriately however, we will clear
brush and undergrowth and replant with several
varieties of trees which either support the
environment (physical and human), like the
Neem, as well as others which support
responsible, sustainable,  economically viable, as
well as profitable,  land use for ourselves and our
investors/parcel owners while providing work and
educational opportunities for our neighbors in the
surrounding communities which have welcomed
and co-exist with us.

The Ranch will therefore replant and be
responsible for  5-7 meter  strip along the entry
road before the parcel boundaries begin.  We will
also leave 5-7 meters ...or more... between the
parcel boundaries and the currently open field
which will become a forest of Neem and/or other
trees in the next 2-3 years.  Between each parcel
will be a mixed, green-space and privacy buffer of
between 25 and 30 meters which  the ranch will
plant and maintain for the benefit of all. In these
spaces we will emphasize a park-like environment
with a mixed growth of indigenous trees,
including Cedro as well as others such as Robalo,
and especially the Neem.

Dwarf palms, cactus, bromeliads, and even
orchids, as well as several varieties of chilies will
also be able to take advantage of these protected
areas and our parcel owners will be encouraged to
make use of the literal fruits of our labors either
by donating a small amount of time to help out
from time to time or by a small financial donation
to help us cover out-of-pocket expenses.

All in process. We'll be adding new photos of the
parcel spaces themselves over the next  week to
10 days and will send the URLs for the updated
pages to those of you who have requested them.

Meantime, and as always, we appreciate your
questions, comments,  and other feedback. Thank
you for joining us!
