for up to 4 cars.
There is a covered carport on the front left of
the house. The inviting street entrance to this
home is flanked by a simple planter as well as

Entering the house below you have a large living room and dining room
area before the kitchen. To the right is the library which could also be

is a very spacious, traditional, and airy Yucatecan home.

The spacious kitchen below measures approximately 4 m x 2.5 m and has a huge chimney type
skylight configuration which not only provides ample indirect light but cools not only the kitchen but
most of the front of the house. This ingenious use of natural air flow is repeated in the rear of the
house and thus, reports the owner, this family very rarely uses its air conditioning equipment. As a
result, she reports her average,
bi-monthly, electric bill is generally well under $200 pesos! This
home is wired with 220v power as well.

Speaking of utilities, this home has a land-line telephone service and is thus ready for high-speed
Internet. There is city water to the house and the home also has it´s own natural, deep well which us
used for irrigation as well as to fill the large swimming pool. The current pump, by the way, will
need maintenance or replacing. For cooking and water heating , propane gas is used and there is a
large, roof-top tank which probably requires re-filling less than once every 12-15 months, subject to
usage, of course. SKY TV is available starting at $300 pesos per month. We have tried all of the
available cable services and by far the best is SKY, not to mention their close to 100 (or more)
commercial-free music channels of every style and era from all over the world!
      The Bath

This large, single bath
measures 3 x 2.5 meters.
It is immaculate and
well maintained as is
the rest of the home.
There are also several
other excellent locations
to modernize easily by
adding additional
bathrooms subject to
one´s needs, desires, and
requirements. This bath
itself could be easily
remodeled to
accommodate a jaccuzi,
tub, and/or steam room.
The large, front, master bedroom (upper left) shares a full-wall panel of ventilating windows with
the library. The library , in turn, has a matching, full-wall set of windows so that the breezes from
the front of the house pass through easily, yet privately, while helping to maintain the house fresh
and cool throughout even the warmest Yucatecan summers. The Master measures 4m x 6m

The 3rd bedroom (Below right) is off of a
very large, screened in porch/laundry

social activities. There is a large storage
room, washer and dryer facilities and
the bedroom itself has a large built-in
closet and plenty of window space for
ventilation. The second, large
skylight/air chimney is just outside this
3rd bedroom thus keeping the back part
of this large residence cool and breezy
