Above center, new foundation and posts for 4m double gates and wall for water meter
Above left, front porch pillar: Any small cracks may be hiding rusted or rusting internal structural members. When encountered, these are broken to replace rusted materials which are also treated with anti-corrosive paint or other treatment before being re-stuccoed
Above Right, footing and Armex/Re-bar pillar to reinforce new electrical 110v/220v "tower" which will receive power lines. New lines in turn will be hidden in the existing stone wall as they travel to the new electrical panel in the house. The "tower" will also be reinforced by while re-enforcing the junction of the street and driveway walls
Above, foundation and steel reinforced concrete pillars for 4m x 11m Palapa thatched patio roof. New roughed in window is visible next to the dining room door. The window measures 90cm x 150cm and will not only provide ventilation but a stunning view of the Palapa patio and the extensive, planned garden beyond. This house and foundation was designed for later 2nd floor addition. Our new owners, avid lovers of and livers in the great outdoors, future plans include semi-enclosing the left side of the Palapa patio (last two pillars on the left) creating a large out-door kitchen (approximately 4 x 4 meters) and social area, approximately 4m wide x 8.5 meters in length. A second window to the left of the new dining room window will connect the existing kitchen and the new outdoor kitchen with a window going in (not yet visible) to tie the two centers of culinary activity together.
Trees center left will be removed to provide space for new driveway which will lead to the new 10m x 20m vegetable garden at the back of the property . New, fast growing trees will be planted for shade and privacy near the wall. Large boulders had to be broken or removed to help level property for driveway and parking. Rubble from demolition is being used as backfill.
